Damn... now I feel old. I remember my first "have the tape and the CD" experience. Once I listened to the CD I realized the tapes would have to go. Traded 130 tapes, an old canon SLR 35mm camera and a boss effects pedal board with pedals to a friend for a brand new canon EOS camera with zoom lense and all the accesories in a handy travel case and a Z of home grown humboldt indica fresh off the stem. I had just gotten a bunch of cash so I went out and replaced 90% of the tapes and bought rack gear. Long time.

Wonder what the kids will be spinning in another 25 years?
Remember the stereos back in the 70's and 80's?
Fischer,Technics, etc..with the analog uv meters.
15" Sub woofers, rack systems

I have a '69 Pioneer Quad 5000 w/ reverb that still kick. It was given to me from a friend. He brought it back after on of his tours in Nam. The neighbor kept complaining about it being 2 loud (15s and all), so I purchase a 2.1 Klip Pro set-up thinking it would solve the problem. That computer caught me in even more trouble that what it replaced. Great subwoofer on that Klip system.

I imagine nothing will be spinning as the need for moving parts in media is obsolete. Downloads, streaming on demand, larger RAM storage for cheap. Using lasers and high RPM motors seems a bit much to deliver audio data in comparison with digital non linear formats.

CD's days are numbered... Did you know the CD's size was based on the measurements of cassette tape housings to share the "compact" label of "compact cassette" compared to the 8 track cassette format?
